Room Parent

This is a year long volunteer role where you assists the teacher in organizing and coordinating various classroom activities and act as a liaison between the teacher and other parents, communicating important information such as upcoming events and class needs. They might reach out to you for restocking supplies, various classroom needs, bulletin board, door decorating, grade level specific events, etc. You also organize, coordinate and plan the 3 parties for your child's class for the year (Winter, Valentine's, and End of Year).  If you are interested in becoming a room parent, please contact Stephanie Garcia, our room parent coordinator at roomparentcoordinator@noblepto.org

Workroom Volunteer *requires some training*

This year we have a school wide system set up for teachers to request work room help.  In the main work room in the front of the school, teachers will fill out "work room request" cover sheets detailing the instructions to complete the job.  This will be cutting laminating (only staff members can laminate), making copies, or other classroom prep work.  Teachers have the options to reach out to their room parent, or by making these work room requests directly. This allows us to help teachers without room parents, and allows parents to help out even though their child's teacher already has their needs met.

As a volunteer in the work room, you will check the work room requests, work to finish the job, and deliver completed jobs to the teacher's mailbox or to their classroom.  *requires some training on how to use the copier*

Lost and Found / Office help

LNE Lost and Found needs attention and we are relieving the front office of this task.  This involves gathering jackets from the playground, hanging on hangers, sorting by size, organizing water bottles/lunches and making sure there's nothing left inside of them, etc.  Every few months, this will involve taking the items off the racks and putting in bags or boxes to be donated.

This is a quicker volunteer role, so we are doubling this as office help too.  After tending to the lost and found, you can stop by the front office.  Our receptionist, Lizzie Whitman, needs help in the afternoons getting transportation changes delivered to teachers.  This volunteer opportunity could also involve other various office duties such as making copies, making deliveries to classroom teachers, etc. to help the front office.

Library *requires some training*

Our wonderful librarian, Alisha Brittain, needs our help in the library!  This entails shelving books, checking books in, helping younger grades be successful at their library time, organizing inventory, etc.  In order to ensure our volunteers are effectively helpful, this does require some training.

Event Specific Volunteering

This would be things like picture day help, book fair, hallway decor, various PTO events, staff appreciation help, etc.

Committees

There are many more ways to volunteer than those listed above.  We need your help behind the scenes too with planning.   There are PTO committees you can join too! If you are interested in joining a committee, please reach out to the corresponding email.

Committee What they do
Hospitality Committee hospitality@noblepto.org  With other committee members at the direction of the Hospitality Chair, Morgan Warren, your role would be helping plan and coordinate staff appreciation events.  This could involve scheduling a vendor (restaurant, drinks, etc.), planning and making decor, setting up the event, helping during the event if necessary, taking down the event.
Fundraising Committee fundraising@noblepto.org  This committee, at the direction of the Fundraising Chair, Makenzie Dean, plans and coordinates our fundraisers.  We will have Boosterthon Color Run February 3-12 2025 and a few more throughout the year.  This role involves planning needs for the events: decor, volunteers, etc.

Special Events Committee

specialevents@noblepto.org

With other committee members at the direction of the Special Events Chair, Ruth Extein, your role would be helping plan and coordinate PTO special events.  This might involve planning, making, or gathering decor. Set up for the event, helping at the event, taking it down.
5th Grade Graduation Celebration Committee This committee plans and coordinates the 5th grade graduation celebration and will start work in late winter or early spring.

Watch D.O.G.S., click here to learn more

This is a national program that Noble Elementary has chosen to subscribe to and PTO helps combine resources to get volunteers. Watch D.O.G.S. provides opportunities for fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, uncles, and other father figures to serve on campus for a day or multiple days each year under the leadership of a program coordinator and the guidance of a school principal or designated administrator.  Watch D.O.G.S. is coordinated and run by LNE and we help Noble gather interested dads!  If you sign up to be a Watch D.O.G., this volunteer opportunity involves spending the entire school day interacting and connecting with students, including your own child(ren).  This is a fun way to experience a day in the life of Noble students.

If you are interested in being a Watch D.O.G. at LNE this year, come to the Informational Pizza night on September 10th 6pm at Noble or reach out to the Watch DOGS President at 512-635-5413.
